The welding robot from the Austrian company igm Robotersysteme AG, purchased by STREICHER Pilsen in the autumn of 2024, is primarily designed for circumferential and longitudinal welds, which it can perform with high efficiency and consistent quality.
A so-called "weld library" also contributes to this by allowing welding parameters to be stored for a specific bevel, material type, and thickness. Predefined parameters can then be easily reused.
The size of the welded parts can be up to 10 × 3.5 × 2.6 cm. In addition to a guiding camera, the robot is equipped with another camera that provides an online view of the welding process, enabling monitoring and optimisation if necessary.
Thanks to the welding robot workstation, the highly skilled welders at STREICHER Pilsen no longer need to spend as much time on routine welding tasks. Instead, they can focus on projects that require specialised knowledge and skills. Additionally, they can further their education in the field and gain expertise in automation.
On Tuesday, February 18, representatives of STREICHER Pilsen introduced the welding robot to colleagues from sister companies within the STREICHER Group, who can also benefit from its advantages.
