We perform measurements using six-axis 3D portable arms CimCore 7540 - 4m and CimCore 7535 - 3.5 m. 3D portable arms are manually measuring machines that convert motion from six rotary encoders to classic XYZ output processed by powerful software. 3D arm measurements are carried out to the accuracy of +/- 0.061 mm (point repeatability) and +/- 0.075 mm (spatial accuracy). The device is used for dimension control of complex shaped parts. This kind of measurements are carried out when using conventional measuring methods is inadequate. Apart from precise determination of actual dimensions and their deviations, this method significantly reduces the time required for inspections. A protocol of measured values is issued for each 3D measurement and this protocol is available in various language versions.
